Gold Star Father Mission
Donation protected
My name is Kris Hager. I am a Gold Star Father. My son, SSG Joshua Ryan Hager, Army Ranger, was KIA on February 22nd 2007 in Iraq.
I have been invited to deliver the Invocation at the Commander In Chief Ball for the Inauguration. My mission is to represent Our Nations Fallen Heroes and their Families. For every Fallen Hero there are the soldiers who served with them . . . honoring them is my mission. Honoring all who choose to sacrifice everything for our Freedom . . . that is who I will be standing for.
It is an expensive venture to head to Washington DC during the Inauguration and I will need funding in order to go. Travel there, hotels, food, etc. Asking others for assistance is difficult, yet I do not ask for me . . . I ask for the mission of representing the Heroes of Our Nation.
The journey has been long with sorrow and joy. The story of my journey can be found at 5minutesatatime.org . My wife and I do a radio show that is about living in the moment . . . living 5 minutes at a time. I was at the edge of the abyss . . . the only way I could step back and not be consumed was by living for 5 minutes . . . then 5 more minutes . . . then 5 more minutes. When the pain is unbearable and you can't see ahead, just take it 5 minutes at a time. Likewise, if life is great, don't miss a precious moment.
I humbly thank you for any assistance you are led to provide. God Bless You, God Bless Your Family, God Bless The United States of America!
