Goals for Lachie
Lachlan, 14, was diagnosed with Burkitts Lymphoma on Saturday the 20th of August 2016.
Lachie is a beautiful, fun-loving and active young man with a heart of gold - so you can only imagine what he and his family are going through right now.
Since Lachie's been admitted to hospital he is fighting the fight! He crashed on admission and was placed on life support in ICU which happily he has come off after regaining the ability to breath on his own. He has had lumps removed from his chest, and is undergoing dialysis treatment. A massive Thank you goes out to the team at Royal Children's Hospital.
Lachie has had his first rounds of chemotherapy treatments, and hopefully will be making his way to the oncology ward from ICU very soon.
During Lachie's time in hospital we wish to make his stay as comfortable and positive as possible, which is where your donations can help.
His stay in hospital will be a long one as his condition is treated and stabilised, and of course this means the family's life will be on hold for quite some time. Donations will help the family as they will go towards the expenses that come from a prolonged hospital stay - from meals on the run, to car parking, child care, pet boarding - all the little things that add up when a family is on an extended stay away from home.
Lachie is the eldest of four beautiful children; and an active young member of his community in Lancefield. Lachie loves his local footy and AFL; cricket; and spending time with his family and friends. Lachlans single mum, Katie - who devotes her time to horse rescue and her four beautiful children - first learned of this tragic news on her birthday. Katie, Lachlan's father Justin, and younger brother Blake (12) refuse to leave Lachie's side, standing by him every step of the way.
We will do our best to provide updates and more information along the way of Lachie's journey.
Keep them in your thoughts, and tonight hug your children that little bit longer.
