Single-use plastic is destroying our planet.
Every year our planet uses over 500 billion plastic cups and 50 billion pieces of plastic cutlery every year. Each piece takes valuable resources to create and even more resources to ship around the world. Once they are used they will forever sit in our landfills, streets, and oceans.
I want to solve this problem. Last April, I made the decision that I wanted to end my reliance and single-use plastic so I found a metal mug and a reusable set of bamboo cutlery. I've carried the cup with me every day but found that the cutlery was poorly designed as the case would fray off of the carabiner so I lost them.
By carrying my cup I not only stopped using plastic cups but I have discovered that my cup has a magical power that can change the world. When I carry it, people ask about it and it organically starts the conversation about how we can all do our part in taking care of our planet.
I believe that the more people carry cups the more this message will be shared, so I'm starting a company called reYOUzi. We create products that make it easy to end your reliance on single-use plastic. Our first products will be the reYOUzi Cup, which keeps your beer cold and your coffee hot, and the reYOUzi Kit, which is a handy pouch that contains a reusable fork, knife, and spoon.
We are taking reYOUzi pre-orders to get this project started. Money raised will go to the prototyping process that is needed to make sure we can make these products are sustainably sourced and produced at the highest quality so they can last a lifetime.
