Last January 9, 2017 , one of our colleagues in CT, Marianne Baun and her husband met a vehicular accident. They were pulling out from a facility when suddenly a ToyotaTundra hit them head on. Marianne's injuries were so severe that she had to be flown in to the hospital by a helicopter. Meanwhile, Gomer (her husband) sustained serious injuries also and was transported to a separate hospital. Marianne sustained a C5-C6 SCI while Gomer underwent several surgeries due to severe internal bleeding.
Marianne is a mother of 3, ages 11 and twins 6 years of age. She is the breadwinner of their family here in the US since they arrived here last 2014. Now with her condition, the family has no source of income. The funds we intend to raise will be used for the family's everyday expenses, medical expenses and immigration expenses (since she is still working under her H1b). It is devastating that this family's plans for the future is cut short by this heartbreaking accident. I hope that you can find it in your heart to help this family in whatever amount possible, to somehow alleviate the aftermath of this accident to their family.
All the funds raised for this campaign will go directly to Mr. Reynaldo Baun, Marianne's brother-in-law, who is in charge of the family's financial matters at this time. Me, Trexy Lynn, together with all of her PT colleagues, would like to thank you all for taking on this journey with us in helping out their family at a time like this.
Thank you for continued support and prayers
- Marianne can actively move her head side to side, shrug her R shoulder and pick up her right hand as far as her face although still with a very weak grip. She is able to tolerate longer periods (1.5 hours) of short sitting on a chair and is more alert and participative during conversations. At this point, her left arm and both legs are still unable to move. She also had her R patellar reconstruction surgery last week.
- Marianne's mom and her brother are arriving tonight from the Philippines to help her during her recovery. The kids are going back to school on Monday and Gomer is also recovering very well.
We want to extend our most heartfelt gratitude to each and every donor who has helped us reach the amount that we have now. Marianne's family was able to start using the Gofundme donations that we have received for payment of their monthly utilities and everyday expenses.
We still have a long way to go. As Marianne continues to fight everyday, we also want to continue to ask everyone to stand by her on her road to recovery. Any amount that you will find in your heart to share with Marianne and her family will be greatly appreciated and eternally rewarded.
2 Corinthians 12:9-10
We just visited Marianne at the hospital ( where we also work in ) ! She is in great spirits , we wanted her to know that she has fellow Kababayans that are thinking and praying for her fast recovery ! Please continue to pray for her long road to recovery !!!
Can we raise the amount higher? 20k is not enough. I mean I had a minor surgery done before and that was 10k. With her in the ICU and husband had surgery, they need more than that. Many are willing to help naman and they need all the help that they can get. Maybe raise it to 100k? Just my opinion though.
To Dharry, for medical expenses we dont have to worry bout it for sure they have medical insurance through their employer and the one who hit their car will be responsible for body injuries and car damage but we can surely give more than $20 k for their kids and living expenses
To Lauren Pacis Ismael. I donated once to gofundme UK. My donation was converted to pound sterling. People from the Philippines can definitely donate but money taken from their accounts will be converted to US Dollars. But hopefully, this won't keep them from donating... afterall.. every little helps... every little thing counts...

We are always praying for them. God is a miracle God and will provide! Have faith Kuya Gomer! You all in my thoughts everyday and keeps praying for ate Marriane's healing and restorations. I believed and I have faith that God will perform miracles upon her like He did to my dad last year in the Philippines. My dad is a living testimony of His miraculous power. God blessed and love you all!
To Lauren Pacis Ismail: Yes, people all over the world can donate to this campaign. I copy-pasted this from Gofundme's FAQ page: Can my international friends donate to my campaign? Yes, they certainly can. Friends and family can donate to your campaign from all over the world using a major credit or debit card. When they make their donation, they'll be given the option to select their country. This will generate the appropriate State/Country/etc. options for their credit card information. Important: Your donations will always come to you in your campaign's currency. Your donor's bank will automatically convert their payment into the currency they use. We do not charge any conversion fees, but your donors may want to check with their bank to see if they charge a currency conversion fee.
