David “Bo” Ramsey

****Update*****

Thank you all so much for your support and generosity, I wanted to provide you with an update on behalf of the Ramsey family.

The purpose of this Go Fund Me  is to assist Bo and his family with the accruing expenses associated with a comfortable transition into a new home life. Being that Bo is currently confined to a wheel chair, this will require much more than anticipated. It is estimated that the needed renovations and cost of rehabilitation will reach close to $100,000. In light of this information, our official goal is to reach $80,000+ to assist the Ramsey family with Bo's road to recovery.

Beverly, Bo's wife, was initially getting a loan for the rest of the amount but let's keep it going so this tragic accident doesn't bury this hero in debt!

- A Heartfelt Thank you from his wife, Beverly and Family.

Husband, Father, GrandPa, Brother, United States Army Vet, Motorcycle Enthusiast and more.

On May 30, 2018 Bo attended bike night. He was only a mile and a half from returning home when struck on his motorcycle by a driver who failed to stop at a light.  The driver turned in front of him and the two collided. He hit the car and was thrown into the air and landed around 100 feet from his motorcycle.

The injuries he sustained:

1.pelvis-an open book break.
2.mid foot fracture-right foot.
3.right elbow-broken and completely disrupted.
4. Fractured ribs.
5. Spinal cord injury-impingment that has left him with no feeling from lower chest down.

He has no brain or neck injury and has use of both arms and hands. He received five surgery’s in four days. He has started rehab and does the best he can. The pain is difficult but he pushes through it, but at times his blood pressure plummets very low and rehab sometimes has to stop for a while. This is a day to day process with never knowing what tomorrow will bring. Bo is a very caring and loving husband, dad, grand-pa, son, brother and uncle.

He is loyal to all his friends. He has a great sense of humor as well. His main concern through all of this is that he would never be able to play basketball with his grandson again. Not Bo! He’s Bo strong and he’s a fighter and God has him now with all of this.

Bo was born in Raleigh, NC, grew up in Cary and he graduated from Cary High School.

After graduation, he was employed by a surveying company located in Southport, NC. He soon discovered this was not the career path that he intended to take and he enlisted into the United States Army. His plans were to only complete four years and become Ranger qualified, which he did. He went even further with Airborne school, Jump school-AIT training, Long Range Surveillance. His plans changed once again as he decided to stay enlisted for a few more years. He became Special Forces qualified and intended on retirement at twenty years.

He wanted to move back to Colorado and pursue job opportunities there. But in the fall of 2000, his plans drastically took a U-turn. A blind date was arranged by mutual friends and he and his blind date were married on December 15, 2001. He became an instant dad to three daughters. And now he is a grand-pa to his thirteen year old grandson. Colorado was never an option again, and he remained in the Army four more years.

He has been stationed overseas several times. He served in Dessert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Red Wings where he and his team assisted in the rescue of a captured soldier in Afghanistan, Marcus Luttrell. Not long after that mission Master Sergeant Ramsey retired. He spent twenty four years serving his country and he did it well.  After retirement, he took a few months just to get used to civilian life. He now is employed with a company that he takes pride in working for located on Ft. Bragg. Yes, he enjoys his job, but sometimes not having a team to lead left a void in what he was so used to being a part of. (The brotherhood )

Bo has always had a passion for motorcycles and he loves to ride. He was told about a motorcycle club that he became interested in. He talked with a couple of men in the club and joined the group. The brotherhood was back. Each Wednesday a local establishment has what is referred to as “Bike Night”.  Veterans and other local groups meet up for a couple of hours and just hang out so to speak.

Have Faith and please remember Bo in your prayers!
