It's day 17 of my Sober October and I had yet to figure what charity I wanted to attach it to. - There are so many worthwhile charities out there.
But a thought came to my head that I have heard often 'charity begins at home' and it made me think of my niece Amy and the traumatic events that have affected her life and of her mums .. and how they continue to do so and will for the forseeable future. It made me think in a monetary sense also about the impact financially this has had and with no entitlement to any financial assistance. So I've decided that my go fund page for 'Sober October' will be for her and to help with the travel every day, the cost of transport and additional activity that Amy needs at weekends and for her future. I suppose a tiny way of help to make things that bit easier.
I want to also say thanks to Amy, although what has happened to her was through a mistake of her own I couldn't be more proud of her in her recovery ❤️
