Katrina's Cambodia Trip

I am currently on staff at Youth With A Mission Toowoomba in Australia. I have a heart for mercy and am following my passion through serving as part of the Freedom Project. Our goal in the next two years is to raise money to rescue 10 children out of the sex-trade industry and have 100 commitments to sponsor a child or safe home with Destiny Rescue. We are speaking in churches, markets, and small groups to get the word out about the injustice that is the sex-trade industry and to be a voice for those who can't speak up for themselves.
Last year I had the opportunity to go on an outreach through YWAM Toowoomba to Cambodia where I saw firsthand the rescue and prevention homes that Destiny Rescue has as well as going into their cafes and jean factories where they train girls practically and offer them a hope and a future outside of the sex-trade industry.
We, as Freedom Project have the opportunity to go on a 19 day team trip to Cambodia from October 25-November 12, 2016.
We will be partnering with the YWAM base in Phnom Penh, Cambodia to minister to women in prostitution. It will be a great opportunity to help out, bring the Kingdom and see firsthand the issue of human trafficking in Cambodia. We will have a chance to meet and share our stories with rescued women and girls. We will be doing evangelism in the Red Light District in Phnom Penh, talk to the sex workers and share the Good News with them. We'll get to know the volunteers and staff who are fighting to end child sex trafficking and encourage them in their work. We hope to set up a meeting with some people from Destiny Rescue and possibly see one of their prevention and rescue homes.
Our goal is to gain a deeper understanding of the issues surrounding child sex trafficking and what we can do to end it. When we return to Australia, we'll be armed with the education and deeper passion to continue working to end child exploitation. I am hoping my stories will inpire my family, friends, and churches around Australia and back home to join the cause.
What can you do?
The first thing you could do is pray for the Lord’s provision! As a volunteer staff, finances are an area that really require reliance on the Lord and support from those who believe in the heart behind my mission.
The second thing you could do is prayerfully consider supporting me! Whether it’s 1 dollar or 100 dollars, any amount goes towards the team trip to Cambodia. It includes flights, accomodation, meals, and transport. Through this you are helping me serve and make a difference in the lives of children rescued from human trafficking and in impacting the Kingdom both locally and abroad through ministry, evangelism, and advocacy, all for the glory of the Lord!
