Gloria's Memorial Fund

In late July of 2016, my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 endometrial cancer that had already metastasized to her bones. She was 2.5 months into her chemo and radiation treatment when she had to return to the hospital because she became very ill. This is when the doctors informed us that the cancer she had was extremely aggressive, quickly spreading and causing her a lot of pain. About a month ago, my mother lost movement from her waist-down, prohibiting her from walking. Shortly after, she developed an infection that eventually spread throughout her blood-stream. Due to her platelet and white blood cell count being so low, the doctors were unable to resume her cancer treatment because of how ill and weak she had become.

HER STORY:
Gloria Juanita Conchas passed into the arms of the Lord early morning November 23, 2016 at the age of 40 years old. Gloria was born in Dallas, Texas on September 17, 1976. She is survived by her three beautiful children and her husband. Juanita took great pride in being a devoted, motivating, and loving mother. She raised three beautiful children and made it a priority to instill strong faith in their lives. She was an amazing mother to her children but also their best friend and right hand in life.

Gloria was a lover and overwhelmingly optimistic. She accepted people for who they truly were and treated everyone as if they were her own. She was strong and independent yet loving and compassionate. She was known to be a great listener and was always there to provide others with guidance and advice. She always said, “Everything happens for a reason. You might not understand it right now but you will later.”

AWARENESS:
I am sharing this personal information with you with the intention of asking each and every one of you to make an effort to go to your doctor for your wellness exams. Women – please go to your well-women’s exam every year. The cancer my mother had was rare but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist and every one of us isn’t at risk. Please, understand the importance of remaining aware of your body and watching out for any abnormalities.

Any contributions will go towards funeral arrangements and any outstanding medical bills. Thank you or your time and consideration.
