GLO Ministry Seed Money

GLO is a foster care & adoption ministry that was launched on December 10, 2012. The mission of GLO is to promote foster care and adoption awareness and action in the church and community. God loves orphans, and we do too.
Foster care ministry is my heart and when I left my full-time job as a foster parent recruiter and trainer, God called me to stand in the gap. There are so many gaps in the foster care system...so many needs left unment.
Providing ongoing community and support for foster families, particularly in Parker, Tarrant, and Johnson County fills an important gap. These families are on the frontline of the orphan crisis, and they desperately need a safe place to be heard and supported. Not only that, but they are required to earn up to 30 hours of training each year. GLO provides attendees with 2 hours of continuing education credits each month.
We started out as one support group, meeting monthly, but we have grown into TWO support groups, one in Parker County and one in Tarrant County. In 2015, we have served 25+ families, and we are ready to serve more!
GLO is growing and is a thriving ministry!
So what are our next steps?
In 2016, we will begin to make formal connections with agencies, letting them know about our existing support groups and offer opportunities to launch new groups. With an easy to implement model and professional training curriculum, GLO has created a turn-key foster and adopt support group model.
For GLO to continue to grow, we will need to create a marketing campaign complete with a professional, interactive website and video, business cards, and other print items along with t-shirts for our foster and adopt families. We will also be formally filing as non-profit organization.
All of these next steps will cost money, but we believe this: If God guides us, He also provides for us.
James 1:27 says this: "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."
Will you join with us as we endeavor to look after the thousands of foster children in our community by supporting the families who serve them? Will you consider partnering with GLO as we take our next steps?
Thank you in advance!
