Global Chef Canada 2018

This is Rahil Rathod and he is the recent Gold Medal Recipient of the Canadian Culinary Federation (CCFCC) national competition, as a result, he has been given the honour of representing Canada in the upcoming World Chefs Global Chef Challenge this July in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – The largest competition of his life!
The Global Chefs Challenge Final is where 24 countries compete to show their culinary skills and win the title of “World’s best chef” We are hoping to bring gold to Canada for the first time in this competition.   The dishes we create must follow guidelines regarding taste, appearance, and also showcase plating skills that facilitate ease of service. Our team is honored to represent Canada and showcase their unique skills using fresh Canadian ingredients on the global stage.



Some of Rahil’s achievements include:
· 2017 -  5thplace in the World Young Chef Challenge - Lyon, France
· 2016 - Black Box Winner, Chef of the Year - New Zealand
·  2016 – 2ndplace for Edible buffet -  UAE
· 2016 = 3rdplace as Junior National Team Captain for Coffee Pot Culinary Challenge - UAE
· 2016 - 5thplace in the World Young Chef Challenge - Thessaloniki, Greece

 Leading up to the competition we will be training very hard outside of our full time employment to make sure we can deliver the level of excellence that is expected to win. We are thankful to our families and friends who have been very supportive towards our journey so far. In addition we have received help from community sponsors who are providing us with some tools to help prepare for this competition however, all the countries participating are receiving funding from their respective government organizations, aside from CCFCC there is no organization in Canada that exists to fund us financially. We have a lot of expenses such as flights, accommodations, transportation and other related costs in Malaysia for our team and cannot win for our country if we are unable to raise these funds.
