-UPDATE-
Thanks to everyone who donated to the fund! 126 donors raised $10,200 !!! Much love and gratitude!

Our 30 day campaign has ended so we are no longer excepting donations through this platform. We are working on other outlets to raise the next $20,000 needed to support this event. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor please go to our website-
https://earthrepair.friendsofthetrees.net/

This crowdfunder also acquired 3,205 views and 1,255 shares. We would like to thank all the people who helped spread the word about this campaign. This really helped create positive momentum towards the event.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Your donation will help launch a first-of-its-kind event, the Global Earth Repair Conference to be held May 3 - 5 in Port Townsend, WA, USA.
Our team is preparing for over 500 people from around the world to unite in Port Townsend, Washington, for three exhilarating days of learning, celebration, and collective action. The Conference will focus on the grassroots level of restoring the vitality of our world. More than 70 presenters will weave together their expertise in various fields, including restoration ecology, agroforestry, permaculture, carbon sequestration, and myco-remediation. Together we’ll envision a thriving planet for our descendants seven generations from now, and strategize the many steps it will take to get there.

A conference of this scale requires significant funds to organize. The donations our team collects now will cover transportation / lodging costs for our keynote speakers, many of whom will be traveling from abroad. A scholarship fund will allow a number of students, youth, and First Nations / Native Americans to attend the conference for free.  A further goal of the Conference is to create a portal for earth repair knowledge and networking. To that end, we’re investing in technology for webcasting, podcast production, and conference calls, enabling people around the world to participate.

If you’d like to support the Global Earth Repair Conference as a major sponsor at the $250 to $4,000 level, please read about the various perks we are offering here:
Sponsorship

Here is how your donation will help launch the GERC:
* 50%  for presenters’ travel and accommodations
* 30%  for Indigenous representatives and scholarships
* 20%  for media and webcasting.

The Global Earth Repair Conference will feature:

* Keynote speeches by; John D. Liu, Dr. Thomas J. Goreau, Ilarian Merculieff, Mona Polacca, Precious Phiri and Derrick Jensen.

Announcement! There are so many things we'd like to report on but for right now we'll share this...

2 new presenters that will be joining us at the conference- David Korten author of "The Great Turning" and Dahr Jamail author of "The End of Ice”.

Also! We have just been put in touch with Rajendra Singh, known as the Water Gandhi of India. He is hoping to come to the conference. Rajendra Singh was awarded the Stockholm Water Prize in 2015 for improving water security in India, a task he took up in rural Rajasthan in 1985. The intiatives he started has resulted in over 8.500 johads (earthen check dams) and other water conservation structures constructed since 1985 and brought water back to over 1,000 villages and 4 rivers have been brought back to life.
