You Go Glen Coco

Glen Coco is an adorable 12 week old kitten who came to us from the county high kill shelter where he was set to be euthanized after he was turned in by a Good Samaritan who found him run over by a car. We were told he had a broken maxilla...there was so much more wrong.

Glen Coco suffered from many injuries including a broken maxilla, mandible, crushed sinuses, frontal bone, and other small bones in his face. He had a bone shard in his right orbit, rupturing it.

One of the biggest issues was the hole in his sinus, letting air in his head and around his brain. Air is not sterile which left room for infection. He’s been on antibiotics for this. He has a sinus infection and has been on multiple antibiotics for that, anti nausea/anti emetics, and pain meds.

Glen coco sees an orthopedic surgeon, two regular vets, and a neurologist.

He has an esophageal feeding tube placed for food and medicating and an IV catheter for fluids.

Glen coco had been doing really well up until two nights ago when he had an episode. He vomited and retched. When vomiting with a feeding tube this can be very bad as it can flip the tube back up into their esophagus. We rushed him into the ER where thankfully it was discovered he did not flip his tube. Last night he did the same vomiting and retching thing. And I noticed and issue with his pupil being blown.

Today we decided he needed to see his neurologist but unfortunately he was off today so we had to pay an emergency fee to bring him and 2 staff members in. It costs $7000 for an MRI, two staff members, and the neuro. We were not expecting to pay this but we HAD to do everything we can to save Glen Coco.

His Heart rate is speeding up and slowing down and he has an arrhythmia. They are Concerned about his ICP. Possible brain abscess behind his eye. He developed a nystagmus and exhibited a seizure like episode while I was there. He thinks it’s all connected to the vagus nerve (brain, heart, resp, the vomiting). So we need to get the MRI images done and see what is going on and then we will have to discuss how to move forward.

Please consider donating just $5 towards glen coco. Skipping that Frappuccino or latte today could mean a world of difference for Glen Coco. If everyone just threw in a few dollars we would be at our goal in no time. If you can’t donate, please share. Glen coco needs a Christmas miracle!
