Black Celebrity Giving is heading to Haiti with one goal, give back! We need your help and support as we voyage to the country of Haiti in our first ever service mission trip. Giving in Haiti kicks off  September 2nd- 6th, 2016.

During these days BCG and our amazing attendees will host a number of mission events benefitting a local orphanage, children's hospital and community center.

Raising these funds will allow us to serve the country and the people with unmatched service so we need your help! Funds will be used to help pay for shipping of our collected items to include:

School Supplies - Crayons, Construction Paper, Pens, Pencils, Markers and Binders.

Feminine Hygiene Products and Toiletries - Tampons can be up to $13 a box in Haiti. Items to collect include: Tampons, Maxi-pads, Feminine Wipes, Toothbrushes, Tissue, Toothpaste, Washcloths, Lotion and Deodorant.
Art Supplies - Canvasses, Paint, Paint Brushes, Crayons, Markers, Construction Paper, Crafts.

School Uniforms - We will provide one orphanage with a back to school shopping spree, youth will be able to get a school uniform as well as a play outfit, boys and girls underwear and socks all sizes are need.

Funding will also be used to help makeover a children’s hospital, provide a local orphaned youth with school clothing, supplies and shoes and provide citizens with care packages of food and toiletries.

Our goal is to serve over 3,000 Haitian citizens through the arts, health initiatives, clothing, toiletries and food. This year BCG celebrates five years of service in the US and embarking on a mission to serve in another country is a dream come true. Beyond a mission of service, our goal is to show the world just how beautiful Haiti is with an ultimate goal of increasing long term of increasing tourism and revenue to the country.

We're back from Haiti! Wow, #GivingInHaiti is an experience I will never forget, it was an eye-opening, we have brothers and sisters all over the world that need us. May we NEVER take for granted our many blessings we have in the U.S. I learned a lot about myself, the power of belief and going for it. I also gained a different perspective and appreciation for the life we live here in the US and explored another culture.

One task we'd really like to achieve is the makeover of the rooms at the Children's Home. I looked for pillows but they were so hard to find so now the mission is on for 50 beds, with sheets and pillows. Please stay tuned on how you can support this mission, would love to do this for Christmas, you can read my why in my latest blog post here: http://www.blackcelebritygiving.com/how-a-mission-trip-to-haiti-changed-my-life/

Sending a big thanks to our sponsors and partners - 40 Girls & Some Shoes, Beyond the Game, Creme of Nature, KIND, Team Sak Passé, Flat Out of Heels, Villa Nicole Hotel and Best Western. To everyone that made a monetary donation, provided donated items and even those that just kept us in your prayers, you are loved. I'm glad I allowed God to order my steps and I thank him for sending me 33 angels to serve with me in Haiti. I will be working on a strategic giving plan of action, because as the saying goes give a man some fish you feed him once, teach a man to fish and you feed him for life. My trip my be done in Haiti but my work is not, thank you!

Weekend Update: Blessed Monday everyone! On Saturday we held our first mission with Notre Dame des Victoires. We set up mini shops of shoes, school supplies, underwear, socks, toiletries and more. Kids enjoyed games, soccer balls and crafts. The kids were so excited to have a choice to pick out items of their choice. I think I speak for all of us when I say the kids touched our hearts. When we toured the home we were saddened by the living conditions including the beds, many were broken and some kids were sleeping on crates and few had pillows. So together many of our attendees plan to return and provide the kids with new beds and pillow so stay tuned for all those details. The Nun welcomed us with kind words and the kids sang us two songs. We ended the day with lunch and while it was a busy and hectic day nothing beats serving. We all have so much to be grateful for and we look forward to supporting the home in the future. We ended the evening with a dinner atop the mountains with one incredible view.

On Sunday, we all visited Jacmel, where volunteers will have a beach day and relax, some volunteers also took a tour of the city. Today it's mission day again tomorrow and we'll be serving families at a local Community Health clinic.

Good Morning! Last night we welcomed 31 of our 33 attendees to #GivingInHaiti and we had a ton of fun. One of the overarching goals for this trip is to be one part service mission and one part vacation. Too often do you hear the notion that Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, which sadly affects the country's tourism. The best way to shatter pre-conceived notions is provide proof of the contrary. So our goal is to show the world that the country has beautiful hotels, beaches, museums, night life and you should come too. It was a rooftop kind of night, we started the night at our hotel with photos, passed appetizers, rum punch and meeting new friends. We then headed over to the beautiful 5-star Karibe Hotel where we enjoyed a beautiful night of people, music and dancing with a view to match atop Asu lounge. The more we can increase money into the country via tourism the more we help the country rise up. Today is our first mission day so I'm up early for the cause, I'll be sure to share more updates with you throughout the trip. Thanks to everyone that donated to support our work here, we didn't quite make the goal, but I'm someone who knows how to make it work with what I have and we're going to do great things.
