Giving for Gracie

$9,830 of $10,000 goal

Raised by 149 people in 13 months
Created October 27, 2017
Gracie, Jennifer and Lyndsey's 3-year-old daughter, was diagnosed with leukemia on Monday, October 23rd. She started treatment on Tuesday, October 24th. We all wish we could trade places with Gracie or somehow stop this cancer immediately. Nobody should have to endure this illness, especially a child. My niece Gracie and her moms, my sisters Jen and Lynds, are so strong and fighting this battle with much strength.

If you know Jen & Lynds or have been impacted by Leukemia, I hope you will take the opportunity to support Gracie! All donations will go directly to Jen & Lynds to help pay for the financial burdens that are now part of their everyday survival - medical bills, gas for trips to hospital, parking fees, childcare for their other two children (ages 2 years and 4 months) . . . the list goes on!

Thank you for your love and support. Updates can be found on Gracie's CaringBridge website.

Dear Friends:

Today is Grace’s 4th birthday! Gracie will celebrate with her family today and exert as much birthday energy as she can on this special day. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers as she enters her 6th month of treatment. As you can imagine, Jen and Lynds are hanging on by a thin thread each day, completely exhausted and lovingly helping Grace at every moment. Grady and Harrison (who is crawling now and rumor is that he gets away with everything with his adorable smile) continue to cherish each moment of play with their sister. Your support through cards, meals, and love helps them in all moments, especially those moments where they are putting all efforts into just making it through.

With much love and peace to each of you. Hug your loved ones today and take time to send healing, loving thoughts to our special 4-year-old.

Sara

Dear friends and family:

The terrifying nature of this disease continues to demand everyone's knowledge of its presence. With Grace and the doctors continuing to battle a blood clot, daily chemo treatments, and now a fever.

As you may know, Jen and Lynds are both (the best ever!) Physical Education teachers. Jen is a high school PE teacher, Lynds an elementary school PE teacher in the Greece Central School District (my favorite school district!). Jen's colleagues and students made a YouTube video for her, shouting out their support for her and Grace. Take a look at Jen's amazing students.

Jen and Lyndsey's great friends, Danielle Boneberg and her daughter, hosted a lemonade stand for Grace. Thank you so much, Danielle!

Thank you for your continuous support, thoughts, prayers, help, and waves of love.

With lots of love and peace to you and your family-
Sara (Jen and Lyndsey's sister)

Dear friends and family:

Jen and Lyndsey are extremely thankful for all of the support they are receiving from you. It is honestly helping them get through this heart wrenching time.

I was able to fly home to help Jen and Lyndsey the week before Thanksgiving. Each day is a struggle as Gracie's body endures the pains of chemo and endless medicines. Jen and Lyndsey are constantly on the go, taking care of Gracie, with emotions taking over when Gracie falls asleep at night. The support you all are providing them with reminds them that there is a community of support constantly around them. A loving text to either of them is always welcome, as are the meals that continue to help them focus on the daily care. Thank you so much for this.

As you can see from the latest Caring Bridge updates, the trials and tribulations continue. Grace has a blood clot that requires constant monitoring. She starts her second round of chemo next week, chemo everyday for 27 days straight. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers as Gracie's body fights this.

Thank you, to all of you, for supporting my niece, my sisters, and my nephews. This means so much and we all will be forever thankful.

With much love to you all -
Sara

Thank you for helping us reach our first goal! We are truly grateful for your support and love.

We are increasing our goal to continue our support for Jen & Lynds as they care for Gracie. Gracie's battle continues as she continues her chemotherapy treatments. She is a strong little girl, but can't beat the daily side effects of chemotherapy.

Jen and Lynds state that they do not know what is ahead of them, but they are so grateful for the support that is surrounding them. Tears of sadness and fear are mixed with tears of joy from the love and support of their friends and family.
