Honoring Nina Alexandrou
This GoFundMe page is set up in loving memory of Nina Alexandrou who sadly passed away on March 24th.
Nina faced a lot of adversity in her life, but always managed to have a positive spirit. She dreamt of being a social worker, which was evident in the way that she treated and cared for others. Nina left a mark on everyone whom she met and always made people feel special through her kind, wise, and poetic words. She was also a lover of music and would always quote her favorite songs, often reminding people that “love is all you need.”
To honor her memory, we would like to give back to the place that Nina called home for the past 15 years - Palisade Gardens Home for Adults in Yonkers. One of Nina’s favorite activities while living there was participating in the cooking group. She had always enjoyed cooking throughout her life, and so she found solace in this group’s activities. In Nina’s memory, we would like to sponsor as many cooking group activities as possible by providing ingredients and materials to Palisade Gardens.
This cause means a lot to us, Nina’s nieces and nephew, since Nina was an unflagging source of love, laughs, and support throughout our lives. We are grateful to all the people whom Nina encountered over the past 15 years, for their kindness that made her days a little bit better and brighter. We would like to extend that kindness forward.
