LATEST UPDATE: I am saddened to report the passing of our beloved drama teacher Jack Mezzano. Please keep his family and friends in your prayers. Thank you to all of those who have offered their support and donations.
-------------------------------------------
\\ Friends and family far and wide, thank you for all of your overwhelming messages of love, donations, prayers and support. Without a doubt, these two souls have impacted the lives of so many. Thank you all for paying it forward. The latest update from Jack Matter (Mom) is as follows: "TO ALL MY FACEBOOK FRIENDS AND FAMILY: The next part of the journey has begun. It is a very sobering moment when a doctor comes in and tells you, "This is as good as it's going to get. It's time to make some difficult decisions." The tentative diagnosis is Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease, otherwise known as "mad cow disease"...which has no cure. So, Thursday night, the feeding tube was removed, all treatments were stopped, and Jack was placed on a morphine drip. For the first time in weeks, Jack slept peacefully, with no pain. He is currently in hospice here at the hospital. And now we play the waiting game. If anyone would like to visit, please come...just call first and make sure I'm here...I do occasionally slip out for food. I have been so moved by the wonderful tributes and messages. I realize we have an amazing support system...and know I will be needing you all very soon. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Love, Jack (aka Mom)"

Calling Troupe 4841!
It is with a heavy heart that I share the sad news that our teacher and lifelong friend, Jack Mezzano, has been admitted in the hospital since December 30th. His condition is serious, and I believe that his loving partner, "Mom" (Jack Matter), needs the support of all his children now more than ever.
This wonderful couple made an undeniable impact in our lives. They shared their joy and passion for the arts and gave us a safe place to express our creativity and individuality. They pushed our limits and encouraged us to develop our full potential. They taught us important lessons not found in our textbooks. For many of us they provided an escape from what was sometimes a very challenging time, with something wonderful to look forward to every day. They were relentlessly dedicated to all of their students, both inside and out of the classroom.
Please support our loving mentors in any way that you can. Let's embrace them with love, hope and encouragement during this trying time.
"Act well your part, there all the honor lies."
This campaign was started to support Jack Mezzano and Mom with any medical expenses. Thank you for your donation.
