Giving with Grace is a community fundraising group in Athboy Co Meath set up to give practical support to the family of Elliot Grace.
Elliot is aged 20 and was diagnosed with an aggressive form of lymphoma at the end of July 2016. He has now started intensive treatment as an in-patient at the Mater Hospital, Dublin which will continue for the next 18 months.
A sudden diagnosis like this with a long period of treatment as an in-patient puts huge strain on a family’s resources and is why we have set up our “Giving with Grace” group so we can make a difference with practical support for Dolores and Jim.
Dolores travels to Dublin every day to be with Elliot, meet with his medical team and give him comfort and moral support. They have had to make new arrangements for child care to ensure Elliot’s younger siblings get to school and picked up while Dolores is in Dublin and Jim is at work.
All funds raised through this source and our fundraising activities will be managed through our Credit Union account and used to purchase fuel and food vouchers locally and made available to the Grace family. If we have excess funds these will be distributed to other groups who are supporting us and currently dontating to Giving with Grace from their events.
Dolores and Jim are truly grateful and fully supporting this fundraising.
They are being kept fully informed on our goals, activities and progress.
