מי אנחנו
אנחנו קבוצת הורים שהקימה את אלומות - מרכז לחינוך עברי. אנחנו
רוצים שהילדים שלנו יידעו עברית, כדי שיבינו את התרבות שלנו ויוכלו ליצור תרבות עשירה משלהם, כילדים שגדלים בקיימברידג׳, אנגליה. בכל יום ראשון אנחנו מתאספים, כ60 ילדים, לפעילויות בעברית. אנחנו מלמדים קריאה וכתיבה, משחקים, חוגגים והכל בעברית. תכנית ההעשרה למבוגרים מספקת פעילויות רבות לסטודנטים ולהורים בעיר - מהרצאות על חקר המוח לסדנאות דרמה, אלומות היא מרכז חי ובועט.
מה אנחנו מבקשים
למרות שאנחנו כבר פעילים (מאד!) מאז 2017, אנחנו צריכים את עזרתכם.
אלומות הינה גוף ללא מטרות רווח. עם עליית מחירי השכירות וצמיחת
הקהילה הישראלית בקיימברידג׳, אנחנו מבקשים לגייס 5000 ליש״ט, שיכסו כרבע מהתקציב של שנת הלימודים הבאה.
מתנה לפסח
עם בוא חג הפסח, אנחנו מבקשים שתשקלו לקנות לנכדים/אחיינים/חברים שלכם מתנת אפיקומן מקורית - את מתנת העברית. לולא אלומות, רב הילדים לא ישמעו עברית מחוץ בבית (וגם זה לא תמיד). אלומות נותנת להם את ההזדמנות ליצור חברויות בעברית, לשחק גוגואים בהפסקה, ולהיות מסוגלים לכתוב לכם הודעות סמס בעברית!

Who we are
We are Alumot, a non-profit organisation established in Cambridge. We are a Hebrew centre catering to approximately 60 children who learn to read, write and have fun in Hebrew. As a Hebrew education and cultural centre the Cambridge Israeli community can continue to share their culture, language and make lasting connections.
What we wish for
Although the centre is fully operational, we need your help. With rental costs on the rise and the need to provide more educational materials and teaching staff for the growing Israeli community, we are wanting to raise funds. We are targeting £5K but any little bit helps.
Gift of Hebrew for Pessach
This Pessach consider giving an original Afikoman gift to your grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends - the gift of Hebrew.
For many Israeli children, Alumot is where they can learn and play in Hebrew. This helps them to connect with their family and friends abroad. Help us teach them so that they can text, Whatsapp, and speak to you in Hebrew.
Every little bit counts
The money raised will go towards finding a bigger and more suitable home for Alumot, current expenses such as equipment and learning materials, special events for the Jewish holidays. You will receive a thank you letter written by one of the children, and an invite to our nice coffee machine next time you visit!
