Help Empower Girls

Tax deductible
WHO?
My name is Erica and I started this charity when I was 7  going on 8 y.o.. It started off as a playgroup at my house, but I wanted to help other little girls love themselves and realize they can do and be anything.  My mission since the charity has grown has been to use teamwork to promote manners, self-esteem, social & communication skills and having fun for the purpose of helping little girls realize their leadership potential. I am 15 y.o. now, will be turning 16 y.o.  and I want to help them now more than ever.  I will be throwing a fundraiser for my sweet 16 called "16 Ways to Celebrate Diversity" with the proceeds going towards Girls in Action, Inc.

All Girls have leadership, sometimes they just need help to show it.

WHY?
Leadership helps with self-awareness, and for girls, this is probably the most important thing she can have to help her avoid negative influences that can impact her. If  she has good leadership skills, she will more than likely know how to handle negative things and who to tell when she is in troble, and she will know how to avoid harmful things that will decrease her chances of being successful like:
Problems at home
Bullying
Human Trafficking
Rumors
Negative self-image / Body-image

HOW?
Providing opportunities for girls  to practice being a leader when they are young is important and what makes Girls in Action, Inc. charity unique is that we work with little girls between the ages 8-12 y.o., we are youth lead, and our programming is fun AND free!  And here's how it's done.......

>Helping  girls start a violence prevention campaign that got recognized by the Whitehouse. I was able to raise enough money to take a girl there with me who had never been on an airplane before. She got the chance to bowl in the Whitehouse too!!

>Fun fieldtrips like going behind the scenes of a fashion show, touring a medical facility and going to funzone!

>Teaching the girls about giving back to others  and building gingerbread houses for homeless children!

>Bringing in people from different cultures to teach the girls about cultures other than theirs so they feel comfortable communicating with others.

Our last big event was a Daddy Daughter Dance see here ‌. This fun, self-esteem building event went viral with over 1.5 million views which gave the girls even more confidence.

“Leadership is a series of behaviors rather than a role for heroes.” -- Margaret Wheatley.
For Girls, having a sense of leadership for is important to help her succeed in school, in family, in community and in life.

Your tax deductible donation of any amount will help fund the activities that promote self-esteem and leadership in girls.  Thank you.
