Getting Mike Back On Track

Hi, my name is Mike Stuchbery. You might know me from taking on various Alt-Lite types online - such as Paul Joseph Watson  and Ian Miles Cheong  - in regards to the misuse of history.  Now, I haven't got a serious illness, nor am I about to be evicted from my home. I can work, and I'm extremely grateful to have a job where I'm challenged alongside great people. I have a wonderful, wonderful wife - and cats that mean the world to me.   We have, however, had a fairly bumpy road since moving to the UK and it's had a marked impact on our lives.  It's a long story, but it involves dodgy movers, losing a job  over 'banning banter ', working in some very dodgy schools, abusive neighbours and much, much more.  In January 2016, I hit the wall . I was diagnosed with severe anxiety and depression and left my teaching job. Around the same time, my wife also fell ill, brought on by the stress of the last two years. For the next year, I tried to support ourselves with the writing gigs I had, but without my family, we would have been on the street.  To tell you the truth, despite clawing my way back to health and breaking into copy writing, I'm still relying on family quite a bit, and that's not fair on them - dad's retired, mum's about to.  We're in a better place now.  I'm  back working full-time, and my wife is almost at the stage where she can work again -I'm so very proud of her. However, we've spent a lot of money, and fallen behind quite a lot having been off work, and then on one sole income.  It means that money is always, always an issue.  It's keeping me up at night, and that has its own effects.  I decided to start a crowdfunder not to give us any kind of lifestyle beyond the norm, but to give us some breathing space. If I can slowly raise funds over the space of a few weeks, I can relieve some of the pressure and concentrate of building the basis for further success, both in my day job and in my writing and history projects.  (I actually spent quite a bit of last night angsting over whether I should do this, but then I thought - a bloke can raise £100k over a shit Nazi joke , and others make a good living  throwing minorities under the bus  - me passing the hat around isn't so bad!)  Any funds raised will go to paying off debts, ensuring that all bills are paid in a timely fashion and replacing some very worn out kit. Updates will be given weekly and in time, I hope to consolidate and reveal a few key writing projects relating to history, politics and travel.  The way I see it, this can be a sort of investment in what happens next.  Thanks for taking the time to read this. I'm appreciative for any support given, and I know there are much worthier causes.  A special thank you too, to all my Twitter followers out there - you've done a lot to keep me going.  Lots of love, Mike
