getting back in my own reliable car

Asking for a little help from fellow friends,car guys and mustang guys I graduated with my GED yesterday(so it could be considered a graduation present) ,I was born with spina bifida basiclly paralyzed from just below the knees down as well as a tethered spinal cord that came back that makes chronic pain an everyday thing.

Well it's hard to not only finding a job due to the wheelchair(being judged sucks) but with this pain and all my dr appointments it's hard to keep one I lost my job in July after a year at Walmart unfortunately.

I'm trying the raise the 1000$ I need to pickup a one owner 84 gt off my friends mom and make it reliable (for welding school which I'm likely gonna go to this fall as well as Drs appointments etc) thankfully labor is covered! which will make daily life way easier  by not having to worry if I'll get stuck somewhere as well as making it easier getting in and out(the seats aren't as sunk in,and at a better angle WITH A tilt wheel). both myself and wheelchair vs my dads spare car I currently use.
and another 2 MAJOR reasons I'd like to be back in my own car are 
1. I don't wanna feel like I'm messing up my fathers car with all the scratches and dents etc from the wheelchair as well as if something breaks I feel like it's my fault 
and 2. This is my passion I LOVE cars they are what keep me out or trouble, what keeps a smile on my face and removes my depression, and when I got a lot going on or have a really bad pain day(always anymore) going for a drive clears my head 

I HATE asking for help but I could really use it
