In 1997 I found myself in administrative segregation at the West Valley Detention Center with a book in my hand called God's Prison Gang. It was after reading that book I chose to turn my life around. In 2001 I was invited to church and in 2002 I surrendered my life to Jesus.
Today, God has brought me full circle by opening up opportunities for me to volunteer for the Los Angeles County Sherriff Department. I serve as station clergy for the Lakewood Station and in the LA County jails.
The Senior Chaplain at Los Angeles County Men's Central Jail has approved to allow us to get English and Spanish copies of Thanks For Asking in the hands of thousands inmates.
Thanks For Asking answers life's tough questions through the lens of the Gospel. From suffering, to alcohol, to homosexuality, to suffering and beyond. Most importantly, the book shares the Good News about how God loves us, saves us, forgives us, and redeems us through His Son, Jesus Christ!
Men's Central Jail houses over 4800 inmates at any given time and over 16000 inmates in a year. The Chaplain's hand out tens of thousands of books every year, and now we have this great opportunity to bless so many men who need the hope that we have in Jesus Christ.
Will you begin to pray and ask God how you can partner with us to help make this happen?
With your help and prayers our goal is to get 3000 books into the Los Angeles County Men's Central Jail.
