Dear friends near and far,

On May 18th, 2016 our lives changed. What started as a check-up for a strange cough turned into an urgent trip to the ER, a stay in the ICU, a biopsy under general anaesthesia, countless tests and a diagnosis.

Nishant has been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (stage IV). It is the latest stage of the disease but there is a good chance that he can be cured.

We have started treatment. For now the plan is 6-8 cycles of chemotherapy followed by radiotherapy. We have started the fight and are determined to win it!

This is going to be a long and hard slog, and we hope that you keep us in your thoughts.

As with any cancer treatment, the financial cost is already piling up. Our savings and combined income of a student and a freelancer are in no way prepared to deal with these costs.

We have been fortunate enough so far, as insurance covered the full cost of hospitalization (USD $13,000).

But at this point insurance funds are exhausted. In the best case scenario, if the current plan works and no additional treatment is needed, we need to raise at least USD $55,000 to be able to cope with chemo and radiotherapy bills.
