Get Mauricio out of Venezuela

Hi,

My name is Neil Sharpson and I'm setting up this campaign for my friend Mauricio who desperately needs to get out of Venezuela. I'll let Mauricio explain in his own words:

"Hey, my name is Mauricio Guaura, and my last name is a bitch to pronounce. I live in a little town called Guanta in Venezuela, one of the worst countries in the world at the moment.

So why am I trying to leave my country? You may automatically assume it's due to the ridiculously high inflation (1 kg of rice costs 13% of the minimun wage, yes, 13%. It costs ~12,000 bolivars, our minimum wage is 97,000), being unable to get a simple job, the fact that running water only "runs" from 12 am to 6:30 am, the 30 kbps internet, the inabilty to buy any luxury items (as in, anything that isn't food)...and while yes, that does have a lot to do with it, my main problem with Venezuela lies in the opposition, the Democratic Unity Roundtable.

After several months of protests and over a hundred deaths, the opposition has essentially decided to surrender against the "government" of president Nicolás Maduro Moros. The National Constituyent Assembly was approved last week despite all the protests and campaigns against it, just a few months after it was suddenly announced without consulting the population. This NCA is a new entity that replaces the country's National Assembly altogether, two thirds of which was formed by opposition officials...surely that makes it clear why the government would want it out of their way?
Things have been pretty bad in Venezuela for several years, but I always had some hope we'd make it through...not anymore, though. If we EVER make it through, then it's going to take at least one more decade for everything to be fixed. I don't want to wait that long.
Me and most young people here (70%, according to a poll from months ago), regardless of their overall thoughts on the country, agree on one thing: There's no future to be had in Venezuela, they would much rather build a new one in another country. In my case, Colombia. Not only do I have plenty of family members there in case the worst (like me dying i guess) happens, but I have way more opportunities to get a job there, not to mention the quality of the education is much higher compared to Venezuela.

I will be starting anew in a whole new country, and to be honest, I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm just thankful to have this opportunity."

I'm hoping to raise €1000 for Mauricio. Because of the difficulty in setting up a GoFundMe page from Venezuela I'll be raising this money on his behalf and then transferring it to him by Pay Pal.
The money will be spent as follows:

1) $150 to get to Colombia
2) $300-400 to rent an apartment.
3) $200 for food
4) $50 to leave behind in case the worst happens
5)$200 for emergencies.

Any donations, great or small, will be hugely appreciated.

Thank you.
