Get F.A.T.

We want to help people Get F.A.T!! (Freedom and Transformation).

Get F.A.T. is a faith-based, community development organization that offers support services to four key populations: Homeless, Low-income families,  Victims/Survivors of domestic violence, and Returning Citizens (citizens who are reintegrating into society after incarceration).

The mission of Get F.A.T. is to educate and advocate for these populations while providing them with practical resources that will lead to Freedom and Transformation. These populations are often at a disadvantage due to a lack of access to the needed resources.

We have researched, networked, and partnered with other organizations in order to begin some of this work. However, help is needed to complete the process of becoming an “official” non-profit organization. The money donated will help cover the start-up costs and fees of becoming a non-profit: state and federal fees, website hosting, printing, mailing, and other supplies and materials.

 An initial project that is underway is acquiring used computers and preparing them to be distributed to low-income families.  Along with the computers, they will receive basic computer training and assistance in regards to job searches, resume writing, etc. This is also an example of the types of services that will be extended to returning citizens.
