Hi! I'm Cass, a Very Sad trans girl who moved to Melbourne last year in order to try and follow my dreams! I'm an unemployable anxious wreck with a Bachelor of Arts and severe ADHD, though, so Melbourne has been less than obliging in this regard.
But one of the biggest reasons I moved down here is because it's the home of Dr. Ives, one of the only SRS (or GRS, or just The Surgery) doctors in Australia. After a year of moving here, my partner Wren and I are finally in a position to try and start making some formal overtures towards him (consultations, getting a date, establishing payment plans), and so on. Unfortunately I'm still on government assistance which isn't enough to build savings :c But I'm looking for jobs every day and while I hope one day some employer takes mercy on my poor, wretched resume, I'd really like to open the door for the many people who have repeatedly said they want to help me.
Dysphoria is something I've struggled with my whole life and the entire concept of the Surgery has been a triggering mess for me many times. This is, without a doubt, one of the most important things to me, full stop, end of story, and if you would help me get over this enormous hurdle in my life I would be eternally grateful to each and every one of you!
I'll also note that both the consultation and surgery waiting lists are quite long, so the fact remains that this is going to be a long-term goal. But actually having a concrete goalpost and being able to see progress towards it is really important to my mental health and to being able to make my way towards the rest of my life.
I am also very cute.
