Gerald's Medical and Rehab Bills

Donation protected
On September 30, 2015,  Gerald (also known as "G") suffered a brain aneurysm or Cerebral Subarachnoid Hemorrhage (a hemorrhagic stroke) and a seizure, at 30 years old, that almost cost him his life.  The doctors have said that less than 5% of people who suffer with this condition survive.  They believe it is hereditary, and his immediate family will have to be tested as well.

He got off of work  and didn't feel well on Tuesday the 29th.  On Wednesday morning he suffered a seizure and was unconscious on the bathroom floor.  He woke up on the bathroom floor and still felt terrible, but didn't realize the severity of his condition.  He didn't feel well for several days, but he thought he was suffering from tetanus as he had stepped on a nail a few days earlier.   He managed to feed the dogs and the fish but could not feed himself.

Four days later, his roommate JC returned from out of town and rushed him to the Emergency Room at Jacksonville Memorial where they diagnosed him with a Grade 4 brain aneurysm and transfered him to the Mayo Clinic.

He underwent surgery to repair his brain at the Mayo Clinic and has been in an incredible amount of pain. Gerald is slowly improving but is still in Intensive Care.  His mother has been by his side since his surgery.

He will need rehabilitation, as the stroke left his right foot immobilized.  In addition, he will need continued monitoring and scans of his brain.  He will be in the hospital at least a total of 21 days.

As you can imagine, his medical bills will be astronomical.   Gerald works in the production industry as a Production Manager and Lighting / Audio Technician at locations all over the Country.   His work is very physical and creates enjoyment for many people all over the Country.  For example, Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival, Hangout Music Festival, and Coachella are just a few shows to which Gerald has contributed his amazing talents.  Not only did he not have insurance coverage at the time of this tragic incident, he will be unable to work until further notice.

Gerald is a wonderful human being and is loved by all those with whom he comes in contact.  Despite being only 31 years old, as of October 12, he is wise beyond his years.  His sense of humor is infectious, his smile warms everyone, and he is known to go out of his way to help anyone who needs help.

We, his family, are so grateful to God that he is alive.   We created this page for him so that anyone who wishes and is able can help him; but also those that are unable to donate can send him messages of love and support.
