Get Geneva to the Camden Fringe
The Camden Fringe is a performing arts festival in London that showcases new and alternative writing through out the month of August.
Camden Town is a hot spot of culture in the inner city district of London. There are 20 performance venues that are part of the festival and provide theatre spaces for international artists who are in the program.
My 30-minute comedy show, 'Messed Up' has been accepted by the festival and I have been offered a 7-8 pm time slot at a central comedy club on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th of August.
Because I have an hour-long time-slot and the fringe festival encourages new and alternative performances I have the opportunity to lengthen and develop my show into a piece of theatre as well as a comedy performance.
The opportunity to develop my work in such a creative way and showcase my material at an international arts festival would be invaluable with regard to informing and improving my arts practice.
Taking part in this festival I would be able to invite reviewers to watch my show and write a formal review of my performance which I could use for future school, work, or artistic applications.
In order to do this, I need the funds to pay for registration with the festival program, the venue fee, advertising on the festival web site and brochure, props for my performance, travel to London, and accommodation while I am there.
The deadline for me to pay for most of these things will be on the 8th of May. However I will not need to pay for props or accommodation until August.
Any amount of support that you can show for this project would mean the world to me. It would mean that I could continue to work on and share a show that I have written, edited, and performed myself and feel immensely proud of. It will also be the culmination of three years studying theatre in the United Kingdom.
This will be an experience that I will carry with me for the rest of my life as an individual and an artist.
