Web Series about Geeks in a bar
Imagine a place for those who have passions for anything and everyththing geeky…whether it’s sci-fi, super heroes, gaming, mythology, technology, whatever it is, this is their safe haven. A place where geeks can go to drink, to laugh, to debate, to flirt, or just to be themselves. And despite their differences, and their disputes, the patrons here are a family--a dysfunctional family, but a family nonetheless. This is a comedy web series about geeks, and for geeks.
Put “Cheers” and “Silicon Valley” in a blender and push “liquefy”. This yet untitled web series will be an improvised show that is workshopped and rehearsed beforehand. Episodes will be outlined for story, but will be open enough for actors to let loose and play! And what amazing actors we have cast! They are some of the top improvisational actors Chicago has to offer.
The concept of this series comes from the award-winning Chicago filmmaker, Larry Ziegelman. Larry is a 20-year veteran of advertising as well as a writer and director of numerous short films and commercials. His films such as “Little Man of Steel”, “Boom Boom” and “Check Please” have collected accolades and played the film festival circuit for years, and are now available online at: larryz.com/director.
Along with producer and photographer Aaron Gang, producer Jane Morson of Hesperidian Productions,
and Director of Photography Joseph Fitzergald (of Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Chicago Med), we are ready to shoot this thing! If all goes well, we begin filming at the end of June. And "it going well" all starts here. So, please, support the arts and the talented actors of Chicago and donate to this series.
First off, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for you kind donations and you patience!
We had an amazing screening of the first 4 episodes of the series! Everyone keeps asking me what's next? Well, while we are still finishing up the post-production, I'll be entering the episodes that we do have done into festivals. Hopefully, we'll get into some great festivals and that good things will happen because of it. See next update for the link to episode 1: Gauntlet. Enjoy!
