Kelsey's Handicap Vehicle Fund

This is an update to Kelsey's story.  Most know that she is home, came home just before Thanksgiving 2015 but she has been in and out of the hospital multiple times since then.   Doctors found that Kelsey has blood clots that have been traveling and thus she has some in her lung (right lobe) and stomach.  She was put on meds for that and that is helping.

Kelsey is getting stronger by the day, she is pushing herself to do things for herself and adapting pretty well with just one leg.  She still has that long road, but she is conquering many obsticles and most of them are on her own, she has always been an independent person and now she is showing that independence more and more everyday. 

She has, against her therapists wishes, gained access to her vehicle from the passenger side which was NOT an easy task and still is not.  It's very difficult for her to get in and out of a vehicle with and without assistance, but she is determined.  She has also been successful in getting into and out of my van, which is great, but again, very difficult. 

So with that said, he next goals are getting into her pawpaw's 4x4 (not very high, but high enough) and to be able to drive her own vehicle again, which is where this campain comes in at.  Kelsey will need to have a lot of modifications done to her vehicle so that it can become handicap accessible which is not really the best idea as it would be more costly. 

So, we have decided to change her Accident Fund to a Handicap Accessible Vehicle Fund.  Our goal of right now is $40,000.00.  We would like to get a van, something that she can wheel herself up to the steering wheel and control everything with her hands as her future prosthetic may not lend her the capabilities to drive like she once did.
