Hello everyone! Thank you for visiting Gay's GoFundMe page. As some of you many know, Gay was injured at home a few weeks ago. She had to be transported by ambulance to the hospital where she was placed in ICU for three days. As with any hospitalization there were tests, scans, and medications followed more tests, more scans, and more medications. The entire time she was in the hospital she kept asking the medical staff how much everything cost. They would give her a dose of analgesic to help with her pain and she would say, "How much does it cost? I don't have health insurance." Gay has been home for a couple weeks now. Unfortunately, the medical expenses have not stopped. She's had follow up appointments for pain management and appointments with specialists. Shortly after the accident she came down with pneumonia. The amount of money spent on prescriptions alone is staggering.
Let me tell you a little bit about Gay. She doesn't have health insurance and refuses to go on disability (although she qualifies). She refuses to get any government assistance. She refuses to declare bankruptcy (even though she could). She will not take the easy way out! Gay insists it is her resposibility to pay her medical bills.

At this time, however, she cannot go back to work full time at the little cafe that she helped create (which is breaking her heart). If and when Gay does return to work full time, the medical bills will take years to pay off.
Those of you who know her know that Gay has the biggest heart around. If there is ever anyone in need she will be the first to help. Gay is well know through out our community and loved by all.
Gay is one of the hardest working people I know. When she approached me and wanted to help me open the cafe, it was truly a blessing. She worked tirelessly to get the kitchen up and running. Before I knew it we were open for business.
When Gay is not at work she is at home enjoying her little farm. She loves animals and has a little animal orphanage. Gay is willing to rescue just about any animal out there (except snakes). She currently has goats, chickens, ducks, fish and dogs (her favorites are her goats).

Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for your donation. Gay isn't aware that I set this up to help pay her medical bills though I'm sure she'll find out soon enough. At first she will be upset, (she can be a little stubborn and proud) but I know that she will appreciate every penny that is donated.
