Gavin's Homeschool Curriculum

Gavin is my 8 year old son. He has recently been diagnosed with a type of Anxiety Disorder. His anxiety stems from being in a school environment. In particular, when pushed at reading/writing (the subjects he has the most difficulty with). The anxiety is also causing physical symptoms, most notably stomach issues. Gavin has just started counseling for his anxiety, but he is still having daily problems at school which is leading to coming home early, or missing days completely.

My plan is to withdraw him from school and start teaching him at home. This way he is actually getting an education instead of spending time in the office, being sent home, or being sick at home.

I have found a 'box' curriculum that fits both his educational needs and my needs as his soon-to-be teacher. It includes everything we need to get through the school year. You can check out the second grade curriculum at Timberdoodle.com.

The price for the Complete Package is $624. If we raise $800 we would upgrade to the Elite package, but right now the Complete package suits our needs. And if, we somehow exceeded the goal and raised $1340 I would withdraw my daughter from the same school and homeschool her as well. But Seriously, that's a dream. $624 is all we need.
