HELP VETERAN AVOID HOMELESSNESS

Many of us know Gary from Facebook or Twitter where he is @GareBearEsq.
Gary is a retired Vietnam war veteran. He has a fixed income which is barely livable and with an unexpected rent increase which he can not meet and he must move at the end of December. He really needs our help to raise money so he can move before he becomes homeless.
About Gary (in his own words)
I am a retired Vietnam War Veteran. I was a Utility Helicopter pilot and Warrant Officer aviator until 1985.
* Colon cancer changed my life 8 years ago and forced me to retire early. as I fought the illness and received extended treatment.
* I survived all of that and passed the 7 year cancer free mark on Aug 27th.
* I was able to get SSDI early and that lifted me out of a homeless situation after the chemo.
* I managed to find some low-income housing here in Santa Rosa where I have been the last 6 years.
* We live in a county with no rent control laws, and our greedy landlord has raised the rent every year since I've been here. My rent was $425 more than when I first moved in.
* This year he decided to go full Bazinga and announce a $200 increase effective Jan 1st. I can't do that, I can't meet that because I barely can afford to eat with whats left after rent and utilities.
