Garo Madenlian Memorial

In commemoration of the 20 year anniversary of Garo's passing, we are raising money for the Garo Madenlian Memorial Fund. Proceeds will go toward upgrading the facilities at Ferrahian Armenian school, where Garo attended and made many of his memories and friends. Specifically, it will fund the new basketball court at the White Oak campus. The large dirt field is being converted into a turf soccer field and state-of-the-art outdoor basketball court. Upon completion of the project, a plaque commemorating Garo will be placed at the new outdoor court.  An announcement of the Garo Madenlian Memorial Fund and facilities upgrades will be made at this year's Armens 50th Anniversary Banquet at Ferrahian on April 6th, which will also include a brief memorial for Garo.  Let us know if you also want details on the April 6th Banquet.

GoFundMe has requested that I add a short description of myself as the organizer. My name is Sevag Demirjian. Garo was my cousin and my best friend. I grew up in the Valley where I attended Ferrahian for almost 10 years in Garo's class (of 95), and now the younger generation of my extended family is starting to attend Ferrahian.  After discussions with other members of Garo's close family and friends, we decided to honor the 20th anniversary of Garo's passing by making a donation in his name to Ferrahian and the Armens, two important aspects of his life.
