Gal's Guide events celebrate the accomplishments of women and encourage attendees to shoot for the stars. Our fun and stress-free events are open to all ages and genders.
Directed by Women 2018
September 29th Gal's Guide is hosting a FREE event to celebrate female directors past, present, and future. We'll have a film class, an expert panel, a silent auction, a keynote by Jamie Lee (Pirates of the Carribean, Chicago Fire) and words of encouragement from Directed by Women founder, Barbara Ann O'Leary.
We are not alone in this event, DBW is a grassroots movement with viewing parties and celebrations around the world throughout the month of September. Events are going on in the United Kingdom, New York, Spain, and Gal's Guide is putting Indianapolis on the map!
Whether you are a filmmaker or a film fan this is a wonderful, energizing event that is worth attending and funding.
Uhura Training Academy
November 23-25 (Thanksgiving weekend) Gal's Guide has been given the opportunity to host the Uhura Training Academy at Starbase Indy. Starbase is a fan-run Star Trek convention in Indianapolis.
Our academy features workshops and presentations that relate to the skills and interests of Communications Officer, Uhura. Attendees receive a cadet ribbon and a certificate of completion. Programming includes: Decipher & create secret codes, history of communication Technology, confidence workshop, edible bugs, a Uhura trivia game and much more!
If the Academy is received as well as we think it will, Gal's Guide could take the Academy to more conventions and look at other "schools" of training.
Gal's Guide is a 501(c)3 Educational Public Charity. NTEE P20.
Funds raised in this campaign will be earmarked for Gal's Guide event expenses only. Any excess funds remaining will be saved for future Gal's Guide events.
