Beth's Breast Reduction Surgery

Donation protected
Take a moment and imagine your senior year of High School. Imagine the feeling of joy that comes with being top dog and having one last year to complete. Imagine the excitement that comes with homecoming, prom, and graduation. The last months are filled with the realization that your friends and classmates are about to go your separate ways. Living through the confusing time having to fill out application after application trying to get into the college of your chose and find financing to go. Now imagine you need a surgery that will improve your physical and mental health, but you can’t receive because an employer refuses to add that surgery to a medical plan. That is what our amazing daughter is going through.

Beth has scored an 1150 on her SAT and has been accepted into San Jac Community College with no contingencies. She has worked hard to make her senior year as normal as possible. Her issue is she has been teased for years for how her body has developed and grown. The problem is her chest didn’t stop growing until it became extremely large. This young lady hides under 3XL hoodies and jackets. She shies away from social events and hates her body. She was excited to go to prom and graduate with the goal of having surgery done before then. In November we finally got surgery scheduled for January 30, 2019. She was over the moon. The whole Christmas break she was the happiest I have seen her in years. Now in January we find out that the employer who covers our medical insurance does not allow this procedure to be covered by our insurance.  I don’t think this is far that an employer can decide that a procedure can’t be covered if it is medically necessary.

The doctors and surgeons should have the final say, and because of that I have written my congresswomen and asked her to help fix this. I have written to the news and no one is interested in our story. We are still fighting with the employer and are exploring other options, but our goal is to get this surgery done as quickly as we can for this bright young woman who is only trying to enjoy life as a teen with an enormous hurtle in her way. We have spoken to the Texas Children's hospital and have found the cash price of her surgery would be $29,000, without complications. We are desperately trying to get her breast reduction so she can finally enjoy life again. This young lady is about to graduate High school and so desperately wants to walk across the stage with this weight lifted off of her. Please join us and making her dream come true. Thank you for your time and God bless.
