US Troops Overseas Need Your Help
Operation Shoebox New Jersey is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to shipping personal care packages to US troops deployed overseas. Several times each year volunteers gather to assemble and pack food and personal care items throughout New Jersey. OPSHBX NJ is particularly busy in the months preceding the Christmas and Holiday season, with the demand for care packages outstripping finances.
Each care packages contains Girl Scout cookies, candy, snacks, beef jerky, granola bars, tuna, fruit, soup and other food items. Personal care items include soap, shampook, deodorant, moist wipes, sunblock, lip balm, toothpaste, toothbrushes, tissues, socks and other items.
Each box weighs between 6-8 pounds. We are asking donors to sponsor a box for $25. We will also include a personalized Christmas card in each box so that the soldier/Marine/sailor/airman/Guardsman receiving the care package can express his/her thanks to you. Please specify whether you want the Christmas gift package sent to a male or female.
Mail call is the highlight of the day for any member of the military far from home. Sending them a care package will help to put a smile on their face and let them know they haven't been forgotten. Honor their service, honor their sacrifice with your gift of giving.
