No Charges To Be Filed
Posted on July 29, 2016
Attorney General Lawrence Wasden has finished his review of a shooting case back in 2015, and determined no charges will be filed against the deputies involved.
The shooting resulted in the death of Council rancher, Jack Yantis.
Back on November 1, 2015, Yantis died after an altercation with Adams County Sheriff Deputies, Cody Roland and Brian Wood. Police say the rancher was shot after one of his bulls was hit by a car and had charged emergency crews.
KBOI-2-TV reports, after reviewing more than 5,000 pages of reports, lab results, witness statements and other materials, AG Wasden said the evidence was insufficient to support a conviction beyond reasonable doubt of the two deputies.
On November 1, 2015 Jack Yantis, lifelong Council Icon, moved on from this life as he knew it. His lifelong companion, best friend and wife, Donna, struggles to hangs on, after suffering a massive heart attack when Jack was killed, as well as being diagnosed with broken heart syndrome, which is brought on by stressful situations, such as the death of a loved one.
Jack was a lumberjack for most of his life as well as a rodeo cowboy and rancher. Jack was loved by everyone that knew him. He was good hearted, down to earth and would have done anything for anybody.

December 12, 10a.m. - 12p.m. a group will join together to decorate the fence along Hwy 95 and continue up to the house, in honor of Jack and Donna. If you wish to do so at an earlier time, please turn right, off Hwy 95 and continue up the driveway to the house for traffic safety.
If you would like to drop your decoration off at 2600 Fruitvale Glendale Road on Friday, the 11th of December, we will place them for you. We ask that you please make sure there is a way to hang what you bring, around a fence.
God Bless the Yantis Family this holiday Season.
Family and Friends came from near and far to join our hearts for this farewell. We each sent with Jack, a piece of our heart and will remember Jack as we hold our memories near, forever.
Please continue to pray for Donna, Jack's wife, as she heals from her "Broken Heart Syndrome followed by a Massive Heart Attack."
On behalf of Donna & Family, it is with overwhelming love that they extend their "Thanks to each & every one of you" for you generous support during this time.
Bless you all.
Having been in law enforcement I am very disappointed that law enforcement is taking so long to bring this issue to light. My prayers continue for the family.
