FI emergency Shelter generator

Hello to all Fishers Islanders,

As many of you already know, the Fishers Island School is used as an emergency shelter during foul weather conditions such as Hurricane Sandy and on rare occasions where there are power outages. In the past, there was a small generator that was carted to FI School to provide just enough power to run basic operations as needed. This year there was a generator and automatic transfer switch kindly donated to the Emergency Shelter. 
The reason the Emergency Shelter is having a page here is to raise money to get a cement pad poured as a footing for this generator and also all the electrical hardware to be installed. New York State has participated but unfortunately it is not 100% funded.
With your help, we can make this happen and a have a safe and reliable emergency shelter when needed. This money will also help the shelter purchase new items such as extra beds, blackets and first aid essentials.
