Funeral Costs & Mental Health Awareness

Donation protected
Solomon Felix Morris - 13th July 2005 - 16th November 2019

As many of you will by now be well aware, the youngest son of the Morris family, Solly, tragically took his own life on Saturday the 16th of November, after having battled for an extended period with deteriorating mental health, aged just 14.
Solly was taken too soon due to an accumulation of reasons that are, as of yet, pretty much unknown to all of us (his close friends and family). We at least never had any idea the severity of his situation. It goes without saying the devastation and grief that has stricken our family, and it is currently extremely difficult to comprehend how we can carry on living our normal lives.
It is beyond upsetting that it has to come to this, and none of us ever thought we would have to plan a funeral for one of our own at any time soon.  And, due to various financial reasons we are unable to afford to give our angel a proper funeral. We want nothing more than to give him the amazing send off he deserves, and it is with that in mind that we appeal to everyone who has been touched by this tragic event.
Solly was a bright, cheeky, talented young man who will unfortunately never realise how many peoples lives he touched in his short time here. If you know our family personally, you will know that we would never usually dream of asking for help to this extent, but unfortunately we have little choice.
Any donations will be appreciated more than anyone will ever know.

Any money raised that is not used to contribute towards the funeral will be donated to a children's mental health charity that will be chosen in due course (we will be sure to update on our Facebook pages). Further to this, some of our family's dear friends are arranging similar fundraising events, beginning with one this Sunday 24th November at the Drum (the Earl of Lichfield) with proceeds being donated directly to funeral costs but also to charity. The Earl is only a small venue with a limited capacity and children must be accompanied by an adult but we would love to see everybody there, friend or stranger, even if just for a few minutes.

Local charity, Re-Bourne, will be moving their annual head shave forwards in order to support this cause and will involve Solly's family and friends shaving their heads. The money raised from this event will be distributed amongst local causes. Further details of time, date and location will follow.

All funds raised will be handled by our mother, Caroline, and we intend to each periodically update people on where any extra funding will go. We would also like to disclaim that this is our personal gofundme and that other fundraising schemes, such as the Memorial Bench fund organised by Dan & Syd Tearle and Neo Yunt, were not set up by the family but are greatly appreciated.

On behalf of every member of our family, we want to thank everyone for the overwhelming support we have received -  and whilst we wish Solly was here to see it, we're absolutely sure he's smiling down on us now.
