At the end of October, the day after our youngest son's 3rd birthday, my dearest wife Hollie was hospitalized for what they thought might be congestive heart failure.  Like the stubborn woman she is, she had kept taking care of our 3 children, ages 1, 3, and 8 at home, including homeschooling, up until she nearly died. 

Hours after being admitted, her heart stopped because of the pressure on it.  They revived her and removed 2 liters of fluid from the sack around her heart, and another 2 liters from around her lungs.  I lost track of the number of days I stayed with her in ICU, watching her struggle and suffer.

Eventually, they diagnosed her with AML, leukemia.  They said that is why fluid was building up in her chest.  Other than the leukemia, they said that she is in great health.  She eats exceptionally well, exercises, and is only 27 years old. 

Because of this, they have been able to start her on a very intense regimen of Chemotherapy that most people wouldn't be able to survive.  It lasts for 24 hours a day for a full 7 days.  It is a hellish treatment that is extremely painful.   

She is being stubborn and still fighting, but it is very hard for her. The worst part is she has no medical insurance.  We are a low income family.  I have a decent manual labor job with the state, but with our expenses, we could not afford to put her on my insurance plan. 

She hurts so terribly, misses her babies horribly, and is terrified that the medical expenses are going to ruin our family financially.  She avoided going to the doctor so long just because she was worried about the expense of a normal office visit. 

She is a beautiful, smart, and talented woman.  She is a wonderful wife and devoted mother.  She cares more about her babies than her own well being.  Please help us get her well and bring her home without the crippling ruin of the bills for the medical care that is saving her life.  We don't know yet how much all of this is going to cost, but anything will help us.
