Funds for Murder Victim Mariah

Mariah Carpenter, 24-year-old Columbus resident was murdered on June 6, 2018 by her child’s father. Mariah’s child A’Mill turned two on May 13th. A’Mill is survived by a family that loves him deeply and will do all they can to care for him.
This sweet little guy has Optic Nerve Hypoplasia which means the optic nerve is underdeveloped; in his case causing him to be completely blind. Optic nerve hypoplasia can be associated with central nervous system malformations, which put the patient at risk for other problems, including seizure disorder and developmental delay. Hormone deficiencies occur in most children, regardless of associated midline brain abnormalities or pituitary gland abnormalities on MRI.
A’Mill also has a cyst deep in the brain that has caused significant issues and required brain surgery this past March to drain the cyst and install a shunt. Since then his motor skills have improved some, but he has had a recent seizure. A’Mill will need to undergo frequent testing and be under various specialist’s care throughout the rest of his life.
Funeral expenses will need to be covered for Mariah as she did not have life insurance, and of course, financial assistance will help the family in coping with the financial stress of raising this sweet child with special needs.
