If you haven't watched the video for this campaign, please do that first as it will answers a lot of the questions not addressed here. After watching the video, you should be interested in learning a little more about the system.
First off, FundFaire is a free and open platform. Its architecture and many of its features are built to ensure that this platform won't ever censor free speech or deny our users from revenue they rightfully earned. Many other platforms have been demonetizing, restricting, or in some cases out right banning people for making content that is protected free speech. That was actually the inspiration behind FundFaire.
I wanted a platform where even if I wanted to implement some kind of censorship, I couldn't. This approach takes all of the control away from some centralized authority that can be corrupted and puts that control in the hands of the users. The only type of content that will be censored is that of an illegal nature. Content that is flagged as illegal will be sent to authorities along with the information that FundFaire has concerning that user who posted it. If something is incorrectly flagged as illegal, that content will be restored along with a personal apology from FundFaire.
With that in mind, this system should help everyone and finally provide a social media hub that people never have to abandon. It should also provide a way for all participants to make some income even if not much, and for others to earn a living just as they have been able to do on other platforms.
As I said in the video, these funds will be used so that I can pay myself to actually work on this project rather than working on someone else's project 50-60 hours a week, as I currently do. The other things this money will go to are purchasing hardware, getting an office space, obtaining more bandwidth (T1 connection), purchasing APIs, retaining a legal team, and other such things that I will need to move this project out of my home office and into a place where we can compete with the big dogs.
I will run this campaign as long as is necessary to fully fund the project, but the sooner I can get those funds the sooner I can get this product to market. I started FundFaire, mostly debt free and I would like it to stay that way if possible so that way once all the initial development is recouped we can start giving more money back to the FundFaire community.
I cannot express how grateful I will be for any funds you donate to this cause. I am trying not to over promise and under deliver, but the things we are planning on doing with distributed ledgers will blow people away. I really need your help to get to that place, because there is only so much I can do on my own right now.
I hope you all realize by now that this project isn't really for me, but for all of you. FundFaire is ideal for small to medium business owners looking for ways to save a little bit of money, professional YouTubers or Twitch streamers trying to recover from the "adpocalypse", those just trying to make a little bit of extra money on the side, and/or those just looking for a place where they can express themselves freely. Please help me make the launch of this application the best it can be so we can start making these things a reality for people all over.
Update: As of today, FundFaire's partnership will now be with Bitcoin Galaxy! We have agreed to a partnership on the following grounds: 1. They have agreed to help me raise $10k for FundFaire either via their upcoming coin. 2. Provided they can secure the entire $10k for the FundFaire beta launch (not in addition to this GoFundMe, but on top of it), their upcoming coin will be the exclusive cryptocurrency of FundFaire. 3.
