On the 23rd of April 2018 I was sentenced to an £800 fine after being found guilty of being "grossly offensive" under section 127 of the Offensive Communications Act 2003. Due to me creating a clearly comedic video where I trained my girlfriends pug to be a Nazi.

The only way for the court to secure a conviction was to willingly ignore the clear context of the video, which was explained twice, in the video itself.

This conviction will be used as an example to convict other people over the things they say and the jokes they make, it sets a standard where courts will be able to willfully ignore the context and intent of a persons words and actions in order to punish them and brand them as criminals.

This is the amount that has been quoted by my lawyer, the reason it has been quoted so high is my lawyer wishes to bring in top legal representatives to ensure that we have the highest chance of reversing the standard that this case sets, I cannot allow the 2 years of litigation I went through and having my life put on hold, to happen to anyone else.

I will be 100% transparent with these funds, all bills in regards to the case will be made publicly available.

All remaining funds from this campaign will be donated to a charity.

Providing an update on here, I have been providing updates via twitter but I understand that not everyone uses twitter.

Excellent legal counsel was secured and we started the appeal process via the sheriff court of appeals. We however were rejected at both stages of the appeal. The issue with the new system of the Sheriff Court of appeals is once you are rejected from there it is the end of the road and there is no option to continue on to the High Court of appeals, something that was possible with the old system, this problem is something highly contested within the legal community and many people seek to change it.

We then wen't down the path of Nobile Aficuum. This is a special appeal process where we appealed directly to the highest Judges in the land to hear our case. This took place last month and we were flat out told no by these judges without even recieving a proper hearing.

The paths we are going down now is the Scottish Criminal Case Review Commission, who are a body who review cases to identify mascarriages of justice who can then refer cases to the High Court of appeal. Which ideally is where we would like to be. This process however can take months.

Another route my legal counsel have gone down is cutting out the middleman and appealing directly to the Supreme Court in London to get them to hear our case. This has been submitted but again it can take a while to hear back from them.

The final option, which is the big one, is to submit our case to the European Court of Human rights, they however would not hear our case until we have used up every available appeal body available to us, this however would be an extremely expensive process, so even if they do accept our case, even with current funds, it may not be possible for us to do, but we can cross that bridge when we come to it.

The most frustrating thing for us, and I'm sure for you too, is how long all of this takes, it takes months for a lot of these things to happen.

As for the funds themselves, they are being held in escrow by my legal counsel, no funds have yet been deducted from it but they will be once the final bill has been generated, all remaining funds after the legal fees are decuated, will donated directly to charity.

I have had a lot of donors messaging me saying they would be fine with me keeping the remaining funds to help me rebuild my life after what the courts did to me, I appreciate the kind gesture but I must politely refuse, I made a promise to give the remaining funds to charity and that is what I will do, I refuse to break that promise.

So the point we are at right now is we have submitted our case to the SCCRC and the supreme court, and we are now waiting to hear back from them, and the fines enforcement office sent me latter last week saying that if the fine is not paid by today, then they are coming for me, so there is a possibility I could be going to jail, something I am prepared to do for what I believe in.

Thank you all so much for your support and I will make sure to post more updates here on the gofund me, I have been doing it via Twitter but not everyone uses twitter so that is my mistake and I apologise for that.

But again thank you all so much for your support, hopefully I will be back later, with good news.
