I recently started pursuing a career in acting, a life-long dream. So far I have been successful in my pursuits.
What do I mean by "successful"?
No, I have not caught my "big" break yet. However, I have acquired opportunities for casting calls - some are guaranteed, show up, do the work, get paid. Others require auditioning. Having the opportunity to show up and get paid (as a background actor / extra) is the first big step in achieving success. I have MANY opportunities afforded to me. One problem. I need travel expenses. So far, I'm only accepting jobs within a few hundred miles away from me to reduce the necessary expenses. Many of these jobs may cost more for expenses than I actually get paid, and some, that are closer to home will pay me more than my expenses. Overall, I expect to break even and not really make any money for my first 2 or 3 months. I still need the travel expenses prior to receiving my paycheck from these casting calls.
What will happen after 3 months?
My plan and goal is to acquire and complete no less than 30 casting calls in my first 3 months. I will not make much money during these three months. Instead, I will acquire a resume, which will make me suitable for lead roles and make the bigger bucks.
My completed casting calls
Due to expenses, I have so far only been able to go to one casting call in which I will get paid for within three weeks (so, still waiting on check). I am hoping you, the most awesomeness person, will donate and help a person out. I have many, many other offers to go on casting calls, but I have expenses I need help with. I have one tomorrow, May 13, 2019, but because it's semi-close to home (2 hour drive), I think I can swing that one and It'll be the last one I can afford.
To-date, I have completed the following casting call:
Drama Mini-Series, Looking for Alaska as a Background Actor
Education and Training
I have not (yet) had any official acting or modeling education; however, I am enrolled. I start June 4th. It's a 12-week program, which costs $620. I paid the registration fee already and then have to cover $40 a week for 8 weeks. I will be attending the Lisa Maile Modeling & Acting School in Winter Park, FL. This school works directly with agents and hosts casting calls within the school - so I also look forward to more opportunities once I start there, including, but not limited to, the opportunity to gain representation.
Dedication and determination to becoming a success
I am so determined to succeed, I currently work 16+ hours a day, 7 days a week working on my acting career. What steps have I made so far?

I registered with http://centralcasting.com and drove to New Orleans to complete registration
I completed my first casting call in New Orleans, same time I completed my registration with Central Casting. One trip, two goals achieved.
I am registered with various other casting agencies (do not confuse with "agents")
I have begun online research and self-taught acting lessons
I have signed up, and paid for (registration fee), of an A+ (BBB)-rated acting institution.
I have responded to approximately 300 casting calls, in which, I have already received 25 positive replies. The next casting call available to me is May 13, 2019 and the one after that is May 17, 2019. I would like to show up for all opportunities provided to me, regardless of how big or small to increase my resume and improve my odds of a bigger role. With a bigger resume, also comes, more knowledge in the industry and acting. I plan on being an excellent actor. Maybe you'll see me as Spider-Man one day lol - aim high, right?
Who benefits from my acting career?
There's a reason I asked that question. When you help me out, you're not only helping me. I am engaged with four beautiful children. You could be the reason our life improves dramatically. I would like to create a better quality of life, both financially and enjoyable, for my children, my fiance, and myself. My youngest is a one-year old girl... my first and only girl. The three older ones are boys.
What do I plan to spend the money on?
Training and education - 10%
Travel Expenses to casting calls and auditions - 80%
Work-related expenses (wardrobe, if not provided, etc.) - 10%
