Calling all friends, acquaintances, and anyone who has had the pleasure of knowing or ever meeting Dances AKA Frog (Devin Bolton), also known as recording artist, producer, & DJ Dances With White Girls…
In case you haven't already heard, Frog was the victim of a freak car accident in downtown Los Angeles in the early hours of May 8th. A belligerent driver was speeding down 7th street when he lost control of his vehicle, hopped the curb, and struck Frog where he was standing on the sidewalk, waiting for his Uber (Warning: the link contains graphic footage that may be disturbing to some).
Frog was rushed to the hospital and was in ICU for several weeks. Both of his legs were broken, his wrist was fractured, and he suffered internal injuries to his abdomen. The damage to his legs has been most significant… so far he has had 4 surgeries that necessitated bone, skin, & muscle grafts, and required doctors to put metal rods in both legs. Doctors estimate he will need at least 2 more surgeries in the upcoming weeks. He will then be in a wheelchair for the following several months while he participates in physical therapy to regain the use of his legs and begins the rehabilitation process.
If you watch the video of the accident, you can see that it’s truly a miracle that Frog is even alive. Frog has been in the USC-LA County Hospital since the accident, and has been recovering swiftly thanks to the care of the amazing hospital staff and the support of his friends and family. However, he has a long, arduous road to recovery ahead of him while he heals his bones and wounds, regains his muscle strength, and re-learns how to walk.
Frog’s friends and family have been so touched by the amount of people who have been reaching out and wanting to help, so we've started this GoFundMe as a way people can contribute to Frog through his recovery. Without the use of his legs and with several open wounds from the skin grafts, he will need 24 hour care. Your donations will go to assisting Frog with basic necessities he will need throughout his recovery… groceries, custodial care, transportation, and physical therapy to learn how to walk again. As anyone who has suffered a major accident knows, these costs add up quickly and can be extremely debilitating.
