¡Hola a todos!
Quiero pedirles un minuto de su tiempo para contarles acerca de Manuel Orellana. Manuel es un joven de 22 años, que actualmente está estudiando Comunicación Social. Le falta muy poquito para graduarse y cuando lo haga quiere dedicarse al área de Publicidad. El es una persona increíble y excelente amigo, y todos aquellos que lo conocemos nos sentimos afortunados de que sea parte de nuestras vidas.
En este momento, Manuel se encuentra luchando con una condición médica importante. En Enero de este año 2015 los médicos hallaron un tumor maligno entre sus pulmones, conocido como Linfoma No Hodgkin. Este es un tumor que se origina de las células que defienden a nuestro organismo de infecciones y agentes extraños. El tumor era bastante grande, pero con quimioterapia y radioterapia se logró erradicarlo casi por completo. Manuel terminó su tratamiento a principios de Octubre, sin embargo, poco después de esto comenzó a sentirse mareado y a tener dolor de cabeza, por lo que lo reingresaron al hospital y descubrieron dos nuevos tumores en su cerebro que comprometen su vida.
¿Por qué estamos pidiendo tu ayuda? Existe un tratamiento innovador para este tipo de tumores, el trasplante de médula ósea. Y, ¿cómo funciona esto? La médula ósea se encarga de producir estas células de defensa del cuerpo, y al introducir la médula ósea de un donante en el cuerpo de Manuel, estas células atacarán el tumor, ayudando a destruirlo. Este procedimiento es muy costoso y actualmente en Venezuela la difícil situación económica hace imposible a sus padres pagarlo.
Cualquier donación que puedas hacer, grande o pequeña, ayudará muchísimo a Manuel y su familia. Todos le deseamos una pronta recuperación y queremos que ya este camino termine, que se convierta en una historia más que contar y que Manuel pueda continuar su vida normal y cumplir sus metas.

We wanted you to know Manuel Orellana and the circumstances that surround his health right now. Manuel is 22 years old and is currently pursuing a bachelor degree in Mass Communications. He wants to specialize in the field of advertising and is only a couple of semesters away from graduation. He is an exceptional friend, always willing to help and make you smile. Everyone who knows him can say that he has a charismatic spark and that he is a person who spreads positive vibes.
Today, Manuel is fighting a very serious medical condition and needs our help to get appropriate medical treatment. In January 2015, doctors found a malignant tumor in between his lungs. This type of tumor is known in the medical community as Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) and develops from the cells that protect our body from infections and external agents. The tumor was of significant size, but thanks to chemotherapy and radiation treatments its size got reduced significantly.
Manuel finished his treatment in October 2015: however, soon after that he started to feel dizzy and suffered strong migraines. He got admitted again in the hospital where doctors found two other tumors in his brain that now compromise his life.
The reason why we are asking for your help is that there is a new type of treatment for Manuel's condition; bone marrow transplants. With the help of a donor, once it is injected into Manuel bloodstream, bone marrow treatments use immune cells in the body to fight and destroy tumors. This is a very expensive treatment, and considering Venezuela's severe economic situation, Manuel's parents cannot pay for the procedure.
Any donation, small or large, will make an important difference for Manuel and his family.
We will be supporting and accompanying Manuel through his treatment and see him get better with your contribution.
