Support a faithful servant of almost 30 years in the Lord's vineyard, at St. Athanasius Greek Orthodox Church, Arlington.  Fr. Nick Kastanas was abruptly relieved of his pastoral duties by Metropolitan Methodios of Boston. This abrupt and malicious act took place over the objections and pleas of many parishioners and stewards of St. Athanasius. His future is uncertain and perhaps conditional on the whim and behavior of others. We want to provide a safety fund for him and his family in these hours, days and months of tribulation. He has reognizably touched countless lives with Christian faith, kindness, pastoral love and care. Now its our turn!

This past week our families celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday, a time that we all reflect and give thanks for all the blessings that we have received in our lives.

It is only appropriate that I deeply THANK YOU for the continuing love, support and energy that you have injected into the GOFUNDME campaign in support of our beloved Fr. Nick and his family at their time of need. Our Community is truly in Unity in this goal!

Early in November, a crowd of almost 500 friends and parishioners attended the CommunityInUnity Clendi-3, a celebration that brought together Fr. Nick, presbytera Litsa, and their family, with many long-time friends, parishioners and beneficiaries of their loving ministry. In a warm embrace of hearts and minds, we celebrated for a few hours the bonds of family, friendship and community that so unjustly were taken away from us all. Nonetheless, we all remain hopeful and pray that justice and Christian love will prevail in the coming months.

In closing I ask you to keep Fr. Nick and his family in your prayers during this season of Advent and Christmas as he continues his struggle to restore his ministry, name, and the St. Athanasius community at large. May God's blessings be with you and your families during these beautiful holiday time.

THANK YOU again for your continuing support of the GOFUNDME campaign!

Dear Friends.
Thank you for your steadfast love, trust and support for our beloved Fr. Nick. He and his family NEVER stop to appreciate the love and support of this community of friends, supporters and parishioners here and afar. The bonds that connected him and his family to each one of us are strengthened even more every day.

For more than 14 months now, Fr. Nick has been suspended from his priestly and teaching duties without a salary or health insurance. This man of faithful service to the Orthodox Church for almost 30 years has been legally attacked, and defamed by his own hierarchy, but continues to receive love, encouragement, and support from a network of friends and supporters that came to be known as the 'Community-In-Unity', a grass-roots organization that is determined to provided practical, and compassionate support to Fr. Nick and his family until justice and reason prevail.

Community-In-Unity has played another important and vital role in maintaining the community bonds that flourished in our parish under Fr. Nick, through a series of Glendi events (Greek Parties so to speak). Glendi 3 is coming up on Sunday November 4th, 2018. If you are interested in participating go online at https://glendi3.eventbrite.com to get tickets and more information.

Finally, we ask all of you to keep praying for a favorable outcome from the legal proceedings that the Metropolis has entangled Fr. Nick in. This past week, those of us that attended his court hearing, have witnessed a hopeful attempt by the judge to direct the Metropolis to mediation rather than litigation. We hope and pray that this road to reconciliation will be chosen by Metropolitan Methodios and his legal team.

As always, I thank you for you kindness, love and support that you demonstrate each day with your prayers, letters, emails, phone calls and donations for Fr. Nick and his beloved family.

Thank You! Ευχαριστώ!

We asked and you responded with compassion, love and generosity!
THANK YOU-THANK-YOU-THANK YOU!

Our fund raising campaign has surpassed it's goal of 100K but the fundraising is not over.

We will stand by our beloved priest until the unjust persecution of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Boston is over, and those responsible for drugging Fr. Nick's name 'though the mud', mindlessly destroying the historic St. Athanasius parish, turning young and old into 'spiritual refugees' have a change of heart AND mind.

We want our Christian Leaders to be exactly THAT! Leaders that display courage to accept and correct mistakes, leaders that sacrifice their own ego for the spiritual growth of their flock, leaders that are examples of the Orthodox Saints, and not of some corporate megalomaniacs!

Those that have 'ears let them hear'

Dear friends!

As we celebrate the 40 days of post Easter joyous season of Orthodox Christianity, our joy is still tempered by the travails of our beloved Fr. Nick. Holy week and Easter this year were dramatically different for many of our St. Athanasius parishioners. Most attended services in other communities, and came to realize even deeper the treasure of faith, sensitivity and love that Fr. Nick exemplified during these holy days. With Fr. Nick's true reflection on the Holy Week events, we all engaged and understood better Christ's passion and sacrifice for us! Fr. Nick was in court during Bright Week to defend himself against the baseless accusations of the Metropolis and the St. Athanasius parish council (which has now joint the Metropolis lawsuit). Although more than 130 parishioners showed up at the court to demonstrate their trust in and support for Fr. Nick, all of this is tremendously hurtful to our beloved priest and his family. If you have not made a contribution to 'Friends in defense of Fr. Nick' recently, we encourage you to help us reach our goal in the next few days. This will send a clear message that Fr. Nick is our priest in our hearts and minds. His name should be cleared and his priestly rights returned.

Let's make it known that Fr. Nick can continue to count on our love and continuous support . On to 'We Love you 100K More'!

With deep appreciation to each one of you!
