ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU TO EACH AND EVERY PERSON THAT PLAYED A PART IN HELPING US TO GET THIS FAR ❤️❤️

We've just had our third visit  volunteering at the animal shelter in Dubrovnik where over the last fifteen years just one woman, Sandra and her two helpers have been looking after over 300 dogs on a mountainside.

Weather conditions are brutal in the wintertime as the shelter has no electricity, running water or sanitation.  The terrain is rough and the dogs live in makeshift wooden kennels that help shelter them from the biting winds and freezing temperatures.

On on our last trip to Dubrovnik our hearts went out to four new elderly arrivals at the shelter who had all come from loving homes and through no fault of their own they are now destined to spend their first winter on the mountainside away from the home comforts that they have known and their cosy beds.  Below are just two of the lovely dogs desperately hoping to be in a warm home for the winter.

We're really hoping to raise enough funds to pay for their transportation to the UK before the worst of the winter hits the mountainside and also to cover any potential immediate veterinary costs on their arrival in the UK.

The shelter receives no help from the Croatian government and so unfortunately they are in no position to fund transportation costs to enable their dogs to start a new life away from the mountainside.  Any donation no matter how small will be most gratefully received not only by ourselves and the gorgeous doggies but also by Sandra and her two helpers.
