****New update June 28th****

We would like to begin by acknowledging and thanking everyone who has so kindly & generously donated just over $17,000 to replace the Fraser family car. They were able to purchase a reliable second-hand car and cover insurance and registration costs. We would also like to thank those who have donated multiple times in light of recent updates in the last week.

Sadly, a couple of weeks ago the Fraser family received the difficult news that after undergoing over twelve months of multiple different cycles of intensive chemotherapy, major surgeries, and a stem cell transplant, Christian’s aggressive stage IV non-Hodgkin's lymphoma has not responded to treatment.

They have been advised by their medical team that Christian’s best chance of survival is a new innovative treatment called CAR T-cell immunotherapy. This specialised treatment involves removing a portion of Christian’s T cells (a type of immune system cell that fights off infection, abnormal or cancerous cells), and re-engineering them with a special marker. These cells would then be re-injected back into Christian with the hope that they will hunt down & kill the cancer cells.

CAR T-cell immunotherapy is an approved but extremely specialised & expensive treatment that is currently only funded in Australia for children and adults under the age of 25 years with this type of cancer. To access this potential lifesaving treatment, Christian is required to travel to a specialist cancer centre in Boston, USA.

Christian has been approved by a federal government program Medical Treatment Overseas Program (MTOP), which can provide some financial assistance for individuals with a life-threatening condition access medical treatment overseas when it cannot be offered in Australia. Whilst some costs such as the medical treatment, flights and visas for Christian & Linda may be covered by MTOP, there are considerable associated costs with accessing this treatment overseas that it will not cover, such as their daily living expenses, or the costs associated with their children Ella & Hudson (6 and 5) travelling to and living with them in Boston for the duration of Christian's treatment, which is likely to be at least three months. In addition to this, Linda’s mother plans to travel with the Fraser family to help care for Ella & Hudson and provide extra support to enable Christian & Linda to focus their time & energy on his treatment. It is crucial to Christian’s treatment and recovery that the Fraser family can remain together and are well supported during this challenging time.

Christian's specialist medical team coordinating this process have advised they will need to raise approximately $100k to fund the family's journey overseas. All funds raised through this campaign will go towards assisting the Fraser family with these costs, and it will ensure the Fraser's home loan repayments, bills, and living expenses here in Australia can continue as it nears almost 18 months that Christian has not been able to work.

In addition to this Go Fund Me campaign, there are several community fundraising events in the works to help raise much-needed funds for this life-saving journey. If you would like to be kept up to date with these events, please follow ‘Fraser Family Support’ on Facebook. We will endeavour to provide further updates as they come to light.

Big love xx

Undergoing intensive treatment for the past year since Christian's diagnosis with stage IV Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma has been an extremely challenging time for Christian and his family, emotionally and physically. It has also been difficult financially with Christian unable to work. The Fraser family have been overwhelmed with the continued love and support from family, friends and their local community throughout this journey.

Now to add to their worries, last week their beloved family car had to be retired with irreparable issues, and needs to be replaced.

We have created this page for those who have offered support and may be able to assist in easing the unexpected financial burden of replacing the Fraser family car.

And for those who may be able to make another meaningful contribution, please consider visiting https://www.donateblood.com.au/ to make an appointment to donate blood products, a vital necessity for Christian and many others undergoing cancer treatment.
